Rendering a model is important becuase it is a chance to show of the model and so you will want to make it look as good as you can. After opening the model that I want to render it selected all the parts of the model and assigned a new material because for this render I want the model to all be in the same material.

I then Made a plane underneath the pipboy and selected the Two back edges and used the extrude tool to lift them up, I then went to edge mode and selected the corners of the plane and bevelled them to make it much smoother

The next step was to move the model into a place that i liked for the render but before i did that i selected the plane and assigned a new material of lambert and made it white.

The second to last step is to tweak the render settings, I first changed the rendering tool to Mental Ray and then changed the image resolution to HD 1080, In the Quality tab I adjusted the slider to a high overall quality. The last options I changed were in the scene tab where I created Image based Lighting, Physical sun and sky nad i checked Emit enviroment light. The last step was to press "Render current frame"

The options i changed allowed me to end up with a render that I was very happy with.
